Signature Receives 91 points and a Silver Medal from Decanter

The 2013 vintage of Signature, our flagship red blend inspired by the Grand Crus of Bordeaux, was awarded a Silver Medal and a 91-point score from Decanter Magazine at the 2017 Decanter World Wine Awards. The 91-point score reconfirms an earlier score by Decanter associate editor Tina Gellie in the March 2017 issue of Decanter Magazine and puts this wine among the highest quality wines in the world.

Managing Director and Winemaker Michael Clark is understandably thrilled with this result. “It shows that our wines are now able to compete on a new level,” says Clark. International exposure and recognition is not new to our wines. A previous vintage of Capella was showcased in 2015 at the re-opening of Canada House in London England to critical acclaim.

Tasting notes on the Signature 2013 from the judges at the World Wine Awards included, “[t]oasty oak nose, coffee and blueberry flavours with firm tannins, plenty of oak and fresh acidity” and noted that it had a “[f]irm finish”.

This is a truly a classic wine that will no doubt be regarded as one of the finest and most collectible vintages in Signature’s history.
